Page 2 of 2 Healing the Children FL-GA would like to extend a warm thank you to all those that helped Julian Castellanos. Julian has completed his first round of treatment and has done wonderfully. He has returned home with his mother to Columbia and is due back in September at Mayo Clinic for follow up medical treatment. Healing the Children FL-GA could not of helped Julian without the help of their volunteers and generous donors. Julian is alive today because people like you took the time to care. Through many phone calls and letters Healing the Children was able to acquire donated treatment for Julian at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota. Thanks to the generosity of the hospital, doctor, and other medical professionals, as well as a generous host family in Minnesota, Julian is now able to receive the life saving treatment he needs.
Update:
We rejoice and give thanks on behalf Julian and his family. Due to a group of individuals that cared a difference was made in a child’s life. Healing the Children is an organization where everyday people can do extraordinary things.

Julian is a 2-year-old boy with Retinoblastoma (tumor of the eyes). Julian is from Colombia and his family makes $35.00 a month. Julian’s family could not/ can not afford 
his treatment and Julian was not able to receive the necessary treatment he so desperately needed in his home country. Julian was referred to us by one of our volunteer coordinators and while awaiting acceptance by a hospital here the United States he lost one eye. 
Julian is an active, fun loving little boy who has been given the gift of life due to the generosity of everyday people. Recently, Julian returned to Minnesota for his follow up and treatment. He is doing so well that no treatment was necessary and he was given permission to go back to Columbia the next day. He is due to return in 6 months for more follow up.
