8-year
old Noor came to us through one of our free clinics.
One of four children, she was born with several
medical conditions, including a cleft palate and
neurological problems. Her medical conditions
have also led to asthma, hearing and vision loss
and speech impairment. Her father is currently
a student at a local university, working part-time
for the university, and her mother is a homemaker
- they are without insurance and living below
150% of poverty.
Since coming to our clinic we have arranged for
Noor to be seen by two hearing specialists and
two vision specialists; she receives speech therapy
twice a week, and she now has a medical home where
her medical conditions can be properly monitored
and treated.
A letter we received from Noor's mom:

am a mother of four kids their dad is a student
with no insurance. For me it was a nightmare
that kept me awake all night thinking what might
happen if one of them got sick. Here was the
light that came out of the dark. It was Healing
the Children who helped me to take care of my
kids in all ways and put a smile on their faces.
I do not have to worry about their sickness.
